The Launch of Fabergé at Partridge

Fabergé, the world’s most iconic artist jeweller, creates extraordinary jewellery, timepieces and objets d’art, as well as bespoke commissions for a discerning international clientele. Founded in 1842, Fabergé has been the most revered name in jewellery ever since Peter Carl Fabergé became official goldsmith to the Russian Imperial Court; the house created exquisite jewels and objects, including the legendary series of lavish and ingenious Imperial Easter Eggs. We are very excited to announce the launch of Fabergé jewellery in our Auckland Queen Street store. Fabergé carries similar brand values to Partridge Jewellers, a long history, a passion for family, the passing from one generation to the next, and the highest commitment to craft and service.

Peter Carl Fabergé

In 1882 Peter Carl Fabergé took over his father’s jewellery business. Together with his brother Agathon, he transformed it into an international phenomenon. Fabergé empowered workmasters, who were responsible for running their own workshops. Fabergé supplied the designs, material and guaranteed the sale of the products – providing they were of the required standard – and in return workmasters were allowed to place their maker’s mark on the objects they made. They added objets de-luxe to their repertoire, including objets de fantaisie such as the Imperial Easter Eggs, now regarded as pinnacles of the goldsmiths’ art. Today these objets are treasured in some of the world’s leading museums and private collections. This formula of design and craftsmanship made Fabergé irresistible and the ultimate objects to own, as well as the gift of choice.

The Heritage Collection

The Heritage collection draws inspiration from Fabergé's original jewelled masterpieces, capturing their refinement, cultural richness and technical perfection. Traditional and complex techniques such as the delicate art of hot enamelling, guilloche and hand-engraving, make up the signature elements of this opulent collection. Opalescent hot enamel glistens on the curves of Fabergé's iconic egg pendants, whilst intricate openwork patterns reminiscent of gemstone facets adorn like a talisman. These signature Faberge techniques are reinterpreted for an elegant and contemporary look.

Essence

The Essence collection celebrates Fabergé’s spirit - fusing an enthusiasm for discovering new techniques with a penchant for surprise, and a generous dose of wit, to raise a smile. Crafted from 18ct gold, each piece is inspired by the iconic Imperial Eggs but incorporates a modern take on the use of diamonds and coloured gemstones to delight a new generation.

Treillage

The Treillage collection is inspired by the Diamond Trellis Egg, created by Fabergé in 1892. The trellis pattern also featured on Fabergé cigarette cases, parasol handles and picture frames, becoming a signature Fabergé motif. The evocative designs, with their soft, tactile and gem-set quilting, represent the perfect marriage of heritage and modernity that is so much part of Fabergé's ethos today. This sumptuous collection of rose and white gold cushion-patterned jewels is studded with luminous coloured gems including rubies, amethysts, orange, yellow, pink and blue sapphires, tsavorites, emeralds and cognac and white diamonds.
