Our Diamonds

Since our founding in 1864, responsibility has lay at the heart of all we do, fusing life’s most treasured emotions, integrity and love, as one to bring pride to the owner of a Partridge piece. Established in 2003, the Kimberley Process unites 81 countries under a transparent regime, monitoring diamonds from mine to market to prevent the supply of conflict diamonds. In supporting only reputable diamond dealers, working under the terms of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, Partridge Jewellers are proud to have contributed to the elimination of 99.8% of conflict diamond production globally.

Recognised as one of New Zealand’s premier jewellers for over 150 years, Partridge Jewellers are proud to be the Nations exclusive stockists for some of the world’s most rare and coveted specialty diamonds for creating a piece that is truly unique and special.

In our pursuit of quality and excellence, Partridge Jewellers solely supply Internationally certified diamonds and gemstones, each with their own certificate of authenticity. With every diamond carrying a unique set of characteristics, the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) introduced a grading system in the 1950’s known as the 4C’s, using four important factors to classify the quality of a finished diamond; Clarity, Colour, Cut and Carat Weight.

All diamonds carry internal features such as inclusions and surface irregularities. The GIA clarity scale (made up of flawless, internally flawless, very very slightly included, very slightly included, slightly included and included), refers to the relative absence of these features. In colour, diamonds range from colourless (D, E and F) to light yellow (S, T, U and below). At Partridge, we take pride in our diamonds, working exclusively with stones meeting an array of strictly excellent quality determinants, ensuring all diamonds are colourless and range from flawless to slightly included in clarity.

No matter what is in the imagination of our customer, our skills create a piece to bring the dream to life. Recognising the importance of true diamond quality, and in our pursuit to create only the most beautiful of creations for our customers, Partridge Jewellers work with a unique and extensive range of incredible stones sourced from around the world to suit the needs of every piece.
