An Interview with Roxie Zhu

Describe your role at Partridge Jewellers, including any areas of expertise:

I am a Sales Assistant at our Partridge 112 Queen Street store. I specialise in both jewellery and watches.

How long have you worked here?

4 years.

How did you get started in the industry/what is your relevant experience?

I used to work in the pearl shop next door, called Queen’s Jewellery for two years. I was also a client of Partridge, and my salesperson at the time Oscar introduced me to the company. I started out as a part-time concierge.

What is one of your favourite parts about what you do?

I really enjoy working with watches, especially when new models are launched, and we get to be the first to access and learn about their features and training information.

How do you make a customer feel special? 

By providing an unforgettable service experience, understanding what the client truly needs, and sharing my own stories with the client that will resonate with them.

If you could purchase one thing today, what is currently on your wishlist?

I would love a South Sea Baroque Pearl Strand.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Diligent, enthusiastic and helpful.

What is your one piece of advice to those purchasing a watch?

Try it on! Or you will never know how much something might suit you.

What is your one piece of advice to those purchasing jewellery?

Choose your own style and path, rather than just following current trends.

If you would advise buying one piece of investment jewellery today, what would it be? 

Coloured diamonds.

What is one of your favourite things to do outside of work? 

One of my favourite activities outside of work is researching and staying updated on fashion trends.
